海大顧承宇副校長率團出席國際航運界盛會
At the invitation of the Foremost Group, Vice President and Distinguished Professor Ku, Cheng-Yu of National Taiwan Ocean University (NTOU), along with several NTOU faculty members and the President of the NTOU Alumni Association, National Policy Advisor Lin Jian-Song, traveled to New York on May 13th to participate in the 60th anniversary celebration of the Foremost Group, a significant event in the international shipping industry.
Before the banquet, the delegation was specially invited to take a group photo with Dr. James S.C. Chao, the founder and an honorary alumnus of NTOU, former U.S. Secretary of Transportation Elaine Chao, and her husband, former U.S. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell. That evening, Vice President Ku was the only Taiwanese guest to take the stage. He presented a crystal glass gift symbolizing “Sailing Towards the World with Unity and Consensus” on behalf of the NTOU alumni and faculty, honoring Dr. Chao for the 60th anniversary of the Foremost Group and wishing the company continued success in the shipping industry. Dr. Chao also specially requested the host to publicly express his gratitude to NTOU.
應美國福茂集團之邀，國立臺灣海洋大學由國際副校長顧承宇特聘教授偕同海大師長同仁一行與海大校友總會總會長林見松國策顧問，5月13日遠赴美國紐約參加美國福茂集團60週年慶的國際航運界盛事。
代表團一行，在晚宴前特別受邀與創辦人同時也是海大榮譽校友趙錫成博士、前美國運輸部趙小蘭部長以及其夫婿前美國參議院麥康諾議長合影；當晚海大顧副校長為唯一上台的臺灣嘉賓，代表臺海大校友與師生致送象徵「航向世界、同心共識」的水晶琉璃賀禮，向趙博士創辦美國福茂集團60週年致敬，祝福美國福茂集團，再創航運巔峰。趙博士也特別請主持人公開向海大致謝，感謝這份來自臺灣的珍貴禮物，並表示希望為臺灣培育海洋人才做出更多貢獻。
