Taiwan-Vietnam Marine and Fisheries Academic Exchange: Ho Chi Minh City Office Hopes to Set a Regional Model

The International Conference on Marine and Fisheries Science and Technology was held today at Nha Trang University in Vietnam, with scholars from National Taiwan Ocean University (NTOU) invited to participate. NTOU has maintained a 16-year collaborative relationship with Nha Trang University. Han Kuo-yao, Director of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Ho Chi Minh City, expressed his hope that academic and technological cooperation between Taiwan and Vietnam could serve as a regional model.
The “5th International Conference on Marine and Fisheries Science and Technology 2025” took place at Nha Trang University from the 27th to the 28th. Attendees included NTOU Vice Presidents Li Ming-an and Gu Cheng-yu, as well as Han Kuo-yao, Director of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Ho Chi Minh City.
According to the Education Division of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Ho Chi Minh City, this year’s conference featured 65 research papers and 36 poster presentations from 13 countries, attracting over 200 participants, including more than 20 faculty members and students from NTOU.
The Education Division also highlighted that NTOU and Nha Trang University have maintained a 16-year partnership, continuously strengthening their collaboration in academic exchange, research cooperation, and talent cultivation. Through conferences, academic forums, and student exchange programs, both institutions have built a close and enduring partnership.
